Position: Senior Finance Analyst
Location: Tokyo
Reporting Line: Regional Finance Manager (Asia-Pacific)
Role Summary:
A global healthcare organization is seeking an experienced finance professional to support regional logistics and customer service operations, with primary responsibility for Japan and selected Asia-Pacific markets. The position partners closely with operational teams to provide financial insight, support planning cycles, and contribute to performance management and process improvements.
Core Responsibilities:
- Coordinate annual planning, forecasting cycles, and periodic financial updates for Japan and select regional markets.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, including variance explanations, forecasts, and performance metrics.
- Support monthly and quarterly closing activities, including accrual validation, asset-related transactions, and internal cost allocations.
- Develop presentation materials summarizing financial results and key business insights for leadership discussions.
- Identify financial risks and opportunities to support operational decision-making.
- Conduct ad hoc financial analysis such as scenario modeling and cost benchmarking.
- Maintain compliance with financial policies and support continuous improvement initiatives in planning and reporting processes.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with accounting, operations, and regional finance teams.
Requirements
Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related discipline required.
- Approximately 5+ years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, or business analysis.
- Strong capability in Excel (including advanced formulas and data tools) and PowerPoint.
- Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders across functions and regions.
- Comfortable working within a matrixed, fast-paced environment.
- Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English required; confidence presenting in English preferred.
- Professional certifications or postgraduate qualifications (e.g., CPA, CMA, MBA) considered advantageous.
- Limited regional travel expected.
