Position Overview

A confidential healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Commercial Operations Manager to lead operational excellence across Sales and Marketing functions in Japan.
The successful candidate will serve as a strategic business partner to Commercial Leadership, enabling data-driven decisions, optimizing internal processes, and ensuring smooth execution of commercial initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Drive sales operations and business analytics to support performance management and target achievement.

  • Lead CRM system administration and enhancement (e.g., Veeva / Salesforce) to ensure effective customer and field force engagement.

  • Manage sales incentive programs, including quota setting, payout calculations, and performance tracking.

  • Support forecasting, budgeting, and planning cycles in close collaboration with Finance and Commercial teams.

  • Oversee territory alignment, account segmentation, and resource allocation.

  • Ensure data accuracy, reporting consistency, and compliance with internal governance and healthcare regulations.

  • Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Supply Chain, and Medical Affairs to align operational priorities.

  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness across the commercial organization.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Commercial Operations, Business Planning, or Sales Excellence within the pharmaceutical, medical device, or life sciences sector.

  • Strong understanding of sales processes, CRM systems, and data-driven decision-making.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, and familiar with business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).

  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Language: Native Japanese, Business English (written and verbal).

  • Must currently reside in Japan and be legally authorized to work.
