Job Title: Commercial Excellence Manager
Location: Tokyo, Japan
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic Commercial Excellence Manager to join our Tokyo office. This role will oversee the Sales Force Effectiveness (SFE) function as well as the existing Commercial Excellence team. Initially responsible for a small team, the position is expected to grow in scope and impact over time. The ideal candidate will combine strong leadership skills with a strategic mindset to drive commercial performance across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead, mentor, and manage the Commercial Excellence team, including Sales Force Effectiveness resources.

Develop and implement commercial strategies and initiatives to optimize sales effectiveness, productivity, and performance.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales, Marketing, and Finance to ensure alignment on business objectives.

Monitor and report on key commercial performance metrics, providing actionable insights to senior leadership.

Identify opportunities to improve processes, tools, and analytics for enhanced decision-making.

Take ownership of team development, talent planning, and succession planning.

Grow responsibilities over time, expanding influence across commercial operations
Requirements
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Life Sciences, or a related field. MBA is a plus.

Proven experience managing teams, ideally in a commercial excellence, sales operations, or strategy function.

Healthcare or pharmaceutical industry experience preferred but not mandatory.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; proficiency in commercial analytics and reporting tools.

Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.

Self-starter with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
