Job Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and strategic Corporate Communications Manager to join our Tokyo-based team. This role is ideal for a communications professional with a background in medical devices or other healthcare sectors, and relevant experience in FMCG will be considered. As a single contributor, you will be responsible for developing and executing effective communication strategies that enhance our corporate image, engage key stakeholders, and support business objectives in a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and manage corporate communication plans aligned with the company’s strategic goals.

Create clear, consistent, and compelling messaging for internal and external audiences, including press releases, corporate presentations, newsletters, and digital content.

Manage media relations, including drafting and distributing press materials and coordinating interviews and press events.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Regulatory Affairs, Marketing, and Medical Affairs to ensure consistent communication across all channels.

Support crisis communication efforts and act as a trusted advisor during sensitive issues.

Monitor and analyze media coverage and industry trends to proactively identify communication opportunities or risks.

Coordinate corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives and employee engagement programs as appropriate.

Maintain strong relationships with external agencies, vendors, and media contacts.
Requirements
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Life Sciences, Marketing, or a related field.

Minimum 5 years of corporate communications experience, preferably within the medical device, healthcare, or FMCG industries.

Strong understanding of the healthcare regulatory environment and the ability to communicate complex scientific or technical information clearly and accurately.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Japanese.

Proven ability to work independently as a single contributor and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.

Experience with digital communication platforms and social media management is a plus.
