🔍 Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a strategic legal advisor to business units and corporate functions

• Draft, negotiate, and manage a variety of commercial agreements

• Lead legal aspects of M&A, divestitures, and strategic alliances

• Collaborate with external counsel on litigation and regulatory matters

• Deliver internal legal training and ensure compliance awareness

• Track legal/regulatory updates and assess business impact

• Champion legal tech and digital tools to drive operational excellence

• Represent the company in external legal and policy forums

🎯 Candidate Requirements

• Japan-qualified attorney (Bengoshi)

• Fully bilingual in Japanese and English

• 7+ years of legal experience (law firm and/or in-house)

• Strong negotiation, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills

• High ethical standards and sound judgment

• Comfortable operating independently without subordinates

• Pharma or healthcare experience welcome, but not required

🎓 Education & Tools

• Law degree; JD or LL.M. preferred

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Gen AI tools, and legal tech platforms

• Understanding of regulatory frameworks, corporate governance, and industry codes (e.g., JPMA, IFPMA)
